Arlene’s life began on June 19, 1942 the daughter of Elmo and Elma (Weide) Cope in Yates Center. She attended Rosalia High School. Arlene was united in marriage to Thomas Hinton on June 3, 1966 in Rosalia. She worked as a bookkeeper for Greenwood County Hospital, Flint Hills High school as a receptionist and retired after 5 years from Boeing in production. Arlene was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxillary for over 10 years. She was known for keeping things in order and for being meticulous in her house work. She enjoyed her children and especially loved spoiling her grandchildren. Arlene passed away on Friday, April 21, 2017 at her home in Rosalia. Her loving family includes her husband Thomas; daughters Patti (Ken) Gray of Krum, TX, Kathy (Greg) Samuels of Towanda and son Jason Hinton of Rosalia; 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents and sister Darlene Dorsett. Friends may gather with the family for a graveside service on Thursday April 27, 2017 at 11 am at Blankinship Cemetery in Rosalia. Memorial contributions in her name may be directed to the VFW National Home for Children in care of the VFW Post# 1174 El Dorado 211 N. Main El Dorado, KS 67042.
