Gerald’s life began on May 10, 1940 in El Dorado.  He is the son of Glen and Bernice (Aiken) Bailey.  Gerald is a 1958 graduate of El Dorado High School and served his country in the United States Marine Corps.  He was united in marriage to Mary Thompson on May 19, 1971 in Ardmore, OK.  Gerald was a sheet metal worker, employed 31 years at Kice Metal.  He enjoyed going fishing and hunting.  He is survived by his wife Mary of Wichita, children Darrin (Samantha) Bailey of Derby and Ed Bailey of Wichita, grandchildren Daniel (Drew) Bailey, Sammy Joe (Curtis) Roth, Kayla Bailey, Dean Bailey, Sly Adimekwe, Talicia Bailey, Bekka (Nino Straub) Bailey, Andrew Bailey, and Brooke Bailey, great grandchildren Audrianna Allen, Aaliyah Adimekwe, Julian Adimekwe, Elijah Tellez, Isaiah Tellez, and Channing Bailey and siblings Carol (Rick) Hull of Andover and Garry (Donna) Bailey of Lansing, MI.  Gerald passed away on March 15, 2017 at Meridian Health in Wichita.  He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers Glen and Larry Bailey.   The family will gather with friends on Sunday from 2-5 p.m. at Carlson Funeral Home where his funeral service will be held on Monday at 11 a.m.  Gerald will be laid to rest in Walnut Valley Memorial Park, El Dorado.  Memorial contributions in his name may be directed to Gentiva Hospice or the Make A Wish Foundation.  Please sign his online guestbook and leave a memory of Gerald at www.carlsonkirbymorris.com .
