Jeffery’s life began on December 28, 1962 in El Dorado. He is the son of Edmond W. and Connie J. (O’Connell) Bratton. Jeffery is a graduate of El Dorado High School and served his country from 1981 to 1985 in the United States Army. Jeffery worked for Beech Aircraft in Wichita and for Blackburn Construction and CDH in El Dorado. He was an excellent all-around athlete in high school setting records in track and field, playing basketball, baseball, boxing and football. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and camping. He was a dog lover and loved music. He was a fan of the Royals and Chiefs, and wouldn’t answer the phone if there was a game on television. Jeffery is survived by his mother Connie Hart of El Dorado, sons Stephen Walker and Brandon Burgdorff, both of Wichita, Alex and Brock Burgdorff of Iowa, and sisters Tammy Bridges and Chris (Mike) Spencer, both of El Dorado and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Jeffery passed away at his home on February 20, 2017. He is preceded in death by an infant daughter Mariah and his father Edmond. Jeffery’s family will gather with friends on Thursday from 5-7 at the Carlson Funeral Home where his funeral will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. led by Pastor Ron Jones of Temple Baptist Church. Jeffery will be laid to rest in Greenwood Cemetery, Eureka. Memorial contributions in his name may be directed to the Kansas Humane Society.
