Alda’s life began on July 17, 1939, the daughter of William “Pearl” and Velma Helen Jane (Webster) Ratts in El Dorado, Kansas. Alda graduated from El Dorado High School and married Deacon Weldon Hackler on April 26, 1958, in Eureka, Kansas. She was a long time member of Temple Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school and children's church for many years. Alda worked at WalMart as a department manager and retired after 21 years of service.
Alda’s loving family includes her two daughters, Teresa Lay of Wichita, and Lisa (Jon) Corbin of Conroe, Texas; a son, Randy (Carmen) Hackler of Wichita; a brother Jerry (Lena) Ratts of Denver, Colorado; 7 grandchildren, Jake, Molly, Garrett, Marin, Christie, Caylon and Aaron; 6 great-grandchildren, Aden, Zoey, Maddox, Dory, Drefan and Ashden.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Deacon in 2006; and a son, William Dean Hackler. Alda passed away peacefully on Monday, June 19, 2017, having reached the age of 77 years old.
Her funeral service will be held Thursday, June 22, at 10:30 a.m. in the Kirby-Morris Chapel with Pastor Ron Jones officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Towanda Cemetery in Towanda, Kansas.
