May 28, 1948 ~ January 5, 2022 (age 73) 73 Years Old

Tribute

Bertha “Connie” Parscal, of El Dorado, Kansas, passed away on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at the age of 73. Connie was born on May 28, 1948 to Glen and Wilma (Bitner) Maltbie. Connie spent most of her childhood traveling. Her family spent time living in California, NYC, Washington State, and Germany, but Connie and her family always called the Cedar Point and Marion areas their home. She owned her own upholstery shop, Chateau Upholstery. She worked hard throughout her life and honed her upholstery craft at Dixon Upholstery and Raytheon. She also owned and operated Walnut Valley Tan and Tone in Marion. She was a resident of El Dorado on and off for 60 years and helped at the local women’s shelter, the El Dorado Senior Center, the El Dorado Animal Shelter, and was a foster parent for more than 10 years. She was a member of Prospect Baptist Church for the majority of her adult life. Connie was fun and funny. She loved spending time outdoors. She always had a soft spot for people less fortunate than herself. She was a warrior and one of the strongest survivors you could ever hope to meet.

Connie is preceded in death by her parents, Glen and Wilma (Bailey) Maltbie; sisters, Marjorie Osgood, Joyce May, and Lois-Jean Kraus; brothers, Alfred, Marvin, LeRoy and Charles Sr. Maltbie.

Connie is survived by daughters, Monica Porter, Barbara Colangelo, and Monica Lynn Parscal; grandchildren, Eric, Adam & Christine Colangelo, Conner Ross, TiAnna Klein, and Skyler Parscal; and three great grandchildren.

Memorial donations in Connie’s name can be made to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice.

A Celebration of Life Service will be planned at a later date.
