Longtime El Dorado resident Beverly Lang, died Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at her home with her loving family by her side. She was 82 years of age.
Beverly May Ankrom was born in Falls City, Nebraska March 25, 1937, She was one of four children born to Arline Leona (Simpson) and Blink William Ankrom. She grew up in Falls City and graduated High school there in 1955. After High School, she moved to El Dorado where she began nursing school at Susan B. Allen Hospital. She became a Registered Nurse three years later and worked in El Dorado and at the VA in Wichita and Topeka.
On September 29, 1957, she was united in marriage to Lyle E. Lang at the First Christian Church in Falls City. Their marriage would be blessed with four children; Mike, William, Linda, and Patricia.
Beverly was an avid reader and could almost always be seen with a book in her hand. She especially liked reading mysteries. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and playing Nintendo with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Preceding Beverly in death were her parents, her husband Lyle, son Mike, and two siblings Jim Ankom and Kay Lukens.
Surviving family members are her children William Lang, Linda Wiegert and her husband Scott, and Pat Reagan and her husband Marty all of El Dorado. She is survived by 7 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Also surviving is one brother Larry Ankrom of Florida.
In lieu of flowers, that family asks that memorials be made in Beverly’s name to the St. Jude’s Children Hospital in St. Louis, MO.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, November 21 at the Kirby-Morris Funeral Home in El Dorado. Burial was in the Sunset Lawn Cemetery. Please sign her online guestbook at www.kirbymorrisfuneralhome.com
