Clement “Clem” E. Sander’s life began on May 26, 1931 in Kenosha, Wisconsin; the son of John and Eugenie (Schorn) Sander. He was a 1950 graduate from Eureka Springs, Arkansas and proudly served his country in the United States Navy. Clem was united in marriage to Shirley A. Welty on February 19, 1955 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in El Dorado. Clem was a member of the VFW Post 1174 and American Legion Post 81 and loved his country. Clem also enjoyed stamp and coin collecting. In retirement, Clem excelled in woodworking making gifts for friends and family. He attended St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. His greatest joy in life was his family, which includes his children: Becky (Brent) Blaine of Keller, TX, Russ Sander of Magnolia, TX; grandchildren Kelly (Eric) Pruitt, Jesse Blaine, Jarod (Rachel) Sander, Jacob (Amanda) Sander, Stephanie Sander, Christian Sander, Trevor Bruno, Trent Bruno and Travis Bruno; great grandchildren Robert, Charlotte, Samuel, Jasper and Owen. Clem passed away on July 11, 2022 in El Dorado. He is preceded in death by his wife, Shirley, granddaughter Emily Sander, daughter Julie Bruno and daughter-in-law, Tammy Sander. Friends may gather with the family from 5-7 pm on Thursday, July 14 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in El Dorado where a Vigil Service will be held at 7 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, July 15 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church at 3pm. Clem will be laid to rest at Walnut Valley Memorial Park with military honors following Mass. Memorial contributions in his name may be directed to the VFW Post 1174 or to St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.
