Donna’s life began on August 4, 1938 in Newton, KS; the daughter of Kenneth and Betty (O’Keefe) Broyles. She was a woman after God’s heart. Her faith was her mainstay and her family flourished because of it. Donna was united in marriage to Dale Whiteside on August 10, 1956 in Potwin, KS. Donna worked hard for her family—from waitressing as a young wife and mother to retiring as a PBX Operator for Butler Community College, she made sure her family never went without. She and Dale operated for a short time, Dal-Don Concessions. Donna was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in El Dorado since the 1960s. She loved Billy Graham ministries and sought to spread the Gospel in her life. Donna also loved sports and was an avid enthusiast. She enjoyed local sports and could be found at many Butler Community College sporting events. Donna was always smiling, loved to cook and garden, and loved her birds. She was a fan of George Strait. Her greatest joy was her family, which includes her children Debbie (Mike) Fagg of El Dorado, David (Mark Brown) Whiteside of Arlington, TX, Dennis (Kristi) Whiteside of Louisburg, KS, Dane (Diana) Whiteside of Lombard, IL; grandchildren, Jennifer (Shane) Stobart, Meghann (Ryan) Ewy, Kellie (Abby) Howe, Danyelle (Ryan) Jacobson, Desiree (Zac) Parker, Denton Whiteside, Lacey (Michael) Marshall and Dean Whiteside; 11 great-grandchildren; siblings Bob Broyles, Jim Broyles, Danny Broyles and Marilyn Coats; and Guardian Angels, neighbors John and Judy Wescott. Donna went to be with her Lord and Savior on June 30, 2021 surrounded by her family in El Dorado. She is preceded in death by her husband, Dale; son Dean Whiteside; sister, Shirley and her parents. Friends may gather with the family from 5-7pm on Tuesday, July 6 at Carlson Colonial Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 7 at 10am in the First Baptist Church in El Dorado. Donna will be laid to rest at the Potwin Cemetery.
