Faye Dutton, 97, went to be with the Lord on Feb. 26, 2019.
A celebration of life will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, March 9, 2019, at Kirby-Morris Funeral Home in El Dorado.
Faye was born in Leon on June 15, 1921 to Oscar and Mary Spivey. She attended school at Latham. At age 16, her family moved to Rogers, Ark., where she became a maid for the Gregorys. There she met Floyd Dutton, Sr., who was the chauffeur and handyman. The two were married on Aug. 8, 1938 and celebrated 59 years together until his death in 1997.
She worked at Cessna Aircraft for 28 years as a sheet metal riveter until she retired at Toronto Lake with Floyd. She was an active TOPS member, machinist union member for 60 years, member of the Christian Church and spent time reading novels and her Bible.
After being widowed several years, she married Mel Oelschlager in Branson, Mo. She lived there for seven years until his death then moved back to El Dorado.
Survivors include: daughter, Fairie Doughty of Rosalia; sons, Floyd Dutton, Jr. (Becki) of Harrah, Okla., and John Dutton (Kathy) of Chanute; brother, Kenneth Spivey of Leon; 9 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; 3 step daughters; 6 step grandchildren; 2 step great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Marion, Frank, Eugene, Bob, and Max; sisters, Ethel, Jessie, and Vena; sons-in-law, Gerald Merwin and Leon Doughty; numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to El Dorado’s Bradford Memorial Library for larger print books.
