George’s life began on March 10, 1943 in La Harpe, KS. He is the son of George F. and Minnie (Jones) Grizzle. George worked for Butler Rural Electric for over 30 years, driving pole setting trucks and operating equipment. He was an avid collector of watches and clocks and was quite skilled in repairing and maintaining timepieces. George also had an insatiable need to buy and sell cars. He would check out back alleys and front yards for that special “cream puff” he could buy low, fix up and sell. George is survived by his loving family including his daughter Cheryl ( Curtis) Crager of Wichita, son Greg (Virginia) Grizzle of Chula Vista, CA, loving companion Sandra Grizzle of El Dorado; grandchildren Clinton (Whitney) Crager, Christopher Crager, Dakota Grizzle and Diego Grizzle; great grandchildren Carson, Maxwell and Oliver; and his siblings Lionell, Elva, Darrell and Alvin. George passed away on October 19, 2017 at Lakepoint of El Dorado. He is preceded in death by his parents, grandson Calvin Crager, and three siblings. His family will gather with friends on Wednesday at 2 p.m. for his memorial service at Kirby-Morris Funeral Home led by Pastor Wade Graber. George will be laid to rest in La Harpe Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions in George’s name may be directed to First Baptist Church of El Dorado.
