Harold’s life began on April 8, 1932 in McPherson, KS; the son of Herbert and Gertrude (Tyler) Ahlstedt. While he was in high school, Harold met his high school sweetheart Elsie Nicholson. They were united in marriage on December 30, 1951 and have been married for 71 years. Harold proudly served his country in the Army National Guard. He worked hard for his family retiring from Texaco after 22 years. Harold and Elsie were members of Temple Baptist Church in El Dorado since 1960. He loved his church deeply. Harold enjoyed gardening and spending time in his yard. He loved wood working and working with his hands. Harold especially loved his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His family includes his wife, Elsie; children Ed Ahlstedt of Wichita, Dorothy Tull of El Dorado; grandchildren, Tony, Elizabeth, John, Mark, Adam, Andy, Jeanette, Angela and Steven; several great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren; and brother, Jim Ahlstedt of Texas. Harold passed away on November 11, 2022 at his home in El Dorado. He is preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Sandy Graham, grandson Troy Ahlstedt, great-granddaughter Brittnay Pitzer, sister Donna Hall, sister Norma Jean Walker and daughter-in-law Denise Ahlstedt. Friends may gather with the family from 5-7pm on Wednesday, November 16 at Carlson Colonial Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 17 at 1pm at Carlson Colonial Funeral Home. Harold will be laid to rest at White Chapel Cemetery in Wichita.
