Jalayn Eileen Nolan, of El Dorado, Kansas, passed away on Friday, August 25, 2023.
Jalayn was born to Edward and Barbara (Sloan) Dressel on October 31, 1938, in Lyons, Kansas. At the young age of 3, her mother Barbara sadly passed away. Her father then went on to marry Leona Jenisch.
Jalayn graduated from Lyons Kansas High School. Jalayn was married to Philip Nolan on January 31, 1957, and they had four children. Jalayn worked outside the home and enjoyed working with the Butler County Sheriff’s Department, especially being a 911 dispatch operator, she then went to work in the business office at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital from which she retired.
When she wasn’t busy working, Jalayn loved being an active memeber of the First United Methodist church. She was involved in many groups and committees within the church. She also enjoyed watching the wildlife in her yard, mowing her huge yard and caring for her flowers. Most of all, Jalayn loved spending time with her beloved family.
Jalayn’s kind and loving heart will be missed by all who were blessed to know her. She is survived by her children, Mark (Vanessa Harris) Nolan, of Howard, KS., Bryan (Lori) Nolan, of El Dorado, KS., Suzanne (Larry) Brown, of Rosalia, KS., Lance (Kim) Nolan, of El Dorado, KS.; her grandchildren, Matt (Crystina), Sam (Kylie), Amy (Justin), Brynn (Cody), Chad (Jessica), Alley (Josh), Chase, Tylor (Sheena), Ashlee (Chase); 16 great-grandchildren; her sister, Cynthia Dressel (Steve) Blair, and their son, Geoffrey.
Jalayn was preceded in passing by her parents, Edward and Barbara Dressel, and Leona (Jenisch) Dressel and her husband, Philip Nolan.
