Jerry Michael Ferguson

Mike’s life began on June 29, 1951 in Cobina, California. He is the son of Donald Jerry and Dorothy Jean (Rippee) Ferguson.

He graduated from high school in Van Horn, Texas. He went to college at Sul Ross State University in Alpine, Texas and graduated with a degree in business administration (accounting).

Mike was united in marriage to Belinda Riggs in 1980. He was employed by Coleman Manufacturing for 37 years before retiring. He could take apart and assemble a Coleman lantern with his eyes closed. He lived in the Augusta area for most of his life. Mike enjoyed casino trips and socializing. He also enjoyed camping, fishing, and tennis

His loving family includes his son, Troy Ferguson of Newton; grandson, Tyre; sisters, Susan Maness of Iowa Park, Texas and Tracy Ferguson of Tampa, Florida; nieces, Lisa Stiles of Dallas, Texas and Lori Okon of Tyler, Texas; five great nieces and two great nephews.

Mike passed away on September 16, 2018 in Wichita.

He was preceded in death by his wife Belinda; grandparents Lola and Huey Rippee; Billie Lewis and Homer Ferguson; his parents, Donald and Dorothy Ferguson.

His family will gather with friends on Wednesday from 5-7 p.m. at the Kirby Morris Funeral Home for his “Roast and Toast” (BYOB). His tribute service will be held at Kirby Morris Funeral Home on Thursday at 10 a.m. Mike will be laid to rest in Walnut Valley Memorial Park. Memorial contributions in his name may be directed to Muscular Dystrophy Association or Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice.
