Joanne’s life began on November 3, 1931 in Utica, NY as Joanne Francis Ropecki. She was united in marriage to Arthur DaSilva on July 27, 1973 in Smithtown Long Island, NY. She was also married to Ed Roberts on November 3, 1951 and he preceded her in death on December 13, 1969. Joanne worked as a key punch operator as a young woman but took great pride in being a homemaker. Joanne and Arthur moved from New York to Port Richie, Florida in retirement where they were parishioners at St. James Catholic Church, members of the St. Vincent de Paul Society and Joanne was active with the Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus. She moved to Kansas with her husband to be close to family as her health declined. Joanne was a parishioner at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in El Dorado. Her loving family include her children Edward (Linda) Roberts of Acworth, GA, Carolyn (Chris) O’Quinn of Griffin, GA, and Cecilia Kennedy of Burns; grandchildren Kelli Roberts, Michael Roberts, Jennifer (Mike) Barwinski, Jackie (Chris) Wilson, Nadine Goddard and A. J. Kennedy; and four great grandchildren. Joanne passed away on March 9, 2019 at Lakepoint of El Dorado. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Arthur and sister Betty Cook. Joanne’s family will gather with friends on Wednesday from 10-11 a.m. at the Kirby Morris Funeral Home where her funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. led by Father John Lanzrath. She will be laid to rest in Burns Cemetery. Memorial contributions in her name may be directed to the St. Vincent de Paul Society (St. James Catholic Church 8400 Monarch Dr. Port Richie, FL 34668).
