Judy Looney

Judy’s life began on July 27, 1945 in Coffeyville. She is the daughter of Bill F. and Melba Jean (Burt) Johnson. Judy is a graduate of Field Kinley High School in Coffeyville and attended Coffeyville Community College. She was united in marriage to Jerry Looney on February 17, 1978 in Wichita. Judy was employed by Martin Marietta as an office manager before she retired. She was active with her husband in the El Dorodder’s Car Club. She was an avid reader, loved gardening, camping and classic cars. Judy treasured spending time with family and friends. She especially loved playing games with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Judy volunteered and served on the board at the El Dorado Senior Center and volunteered with Kids Need To Eat. Her loving family includes her husband Jerry of El Dorado; children Shyanne (Larry) Ching of Littleton, CO, Brenda Staton of Winfield and Terry (Loretta) Looney of Marion; 21 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; siblings Aundra Griffiths, Connie (Tim) Perkins, Gary (Donna) Johnson and Nisha (Steve) Tosh and several nieces and nephews. Judy passed away at her home on Monday December 31, 2018. She is preceded in death by her parents and a great granddaughter Remington Ann. Her family will gather with friends on Friday from 5-7 p.m. at the Kirby Morris Funeral Home. Her service will be held on Saturday at 11a.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church, El Dorado, led by John Whitmore. Everyone is encouraged to wear teal in support of Ovarian Cancer Awareness or Judy’s favorite color purple. She will be laid to rest in Adair Cemetery West, Adair, OK.
