Leota Marie Brackett

Leota Marie (Paxson) Brackett, was born on June 6, 1938 in Hatfield, Missouri to Arthur and Goldie (Stevens) Paxson. Leota died peacefully on August 19, 2019 in a Wichita hospital. Leota was united in marriage to Ronald Gene Brackett on April 19, 1961. Leota was a long time dietary aide at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital in El Dorado and was a member of the Sewing Saints. Leota enjoyed sewing, gardening, reading and spending time with her family. Leota is survived by her four daughters, Kathy (Rick) Shoemaker, Karen (Steve) Denny, Linda (Ed) Norrick and Rhonda (Rick) Alexander; 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Leota is preceded in death by her husband Ronald Gene Brackett; her parents and four brothers-Fred, Richard, John and David. The family will hold a private service at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that memorials in her name be directed to the Kansas Heart Association or to the American Diabetes Association.
