Miriam "Micki" Grace Hinnenkamp
January 1, 1949 ~ January 9, 2022 (age 73) 73 Years Old
Miriam (Micki) Grace Hinnenkamp, age 73, passed away with her family at her side on January 9, 2022. She was born on January 1, 1949 to Everett and Lola Thompson. She was the first-born baby girl “The New Year’s Baby” of 1949 in Cleveland, Ohio. She grew up in a big family as the eldest daughter to a lifelong minister. She graduated from Circle High School in Towanda, KS in 1967 and graduated from cosmetology school not long after that. She married Clifton H. Healy on June 24, 1967 and together they raised three children in Augusta, KS. Micki enjoyed successful careers in banking and real estate. For a number of years, she was the City Manager of Towanda, KS and Spring Hill, KS. She graduated from cosmetology school and was very proud to run her own beauty shop in Towanda, KS. She also enjoyed participating with the Big Brothers Big Sisters organization. Later in life, she married Mike Hinnenkamp of Benton, KS on July 10, 2010. Micki was a loving and attentive mom and also relished her role as grandma (NaNa), doting on her many grandkids. Her favorite pastimes were attending her grandkids’ numerous games, recitals and other activities, working on her Sudoku puzzles and hosting family gatherings. She loved football and was a Chief’s fan. She and Mike also enjoyed watching WSU basketball and attended many games. She is survived by her husband, Mike Hinnenkamp; three children, Clifton D. Healy, Stephanie (Brian) Goldsmith and Kim (Paul) Ralston; three step children, Brian (Wendy) Hinnenkamp, Todd (Jeanne) Hinnenkamp, and Cory Hinnenkamp; two sisters, Deborah (Charles) Beard, Naomi (John) Hunter; a brother, James Thompson; and 12 grandchildren. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Carlson Funeral Home in El Dorado, KS. A visitation will be held at Carlson Colonial Funeral Home on Monday, January 17, 2022 from 5-7pm. Services will be held at the First Christian Church of El Dorado on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at 11am. Interment will follow at Benton Cemetery.
