Norma Lee Carr

Norma’s life began on October 6, 1939 the daughter of Russell and Alma (Taylor) Snider in El Dorado, KS. She graduated from El Dorado High School in 1957. Norma was united in marriage to Bruce Carr on December 31, 1960 at the First Baptist Church in El Dorado. Norma loved her family deeply. She put her heart into her family and showed her love by crafting quilts for each of her children and grandchildren. Norma was a servant of God. She was a faithful member of Prospect Baptist Church, where she was also a Sunday School teacher. Norma enjoyed crafts and was known as quite the seamstress. She was a puppeteer and made her own puppets and also served as a 4-H Community Leader. Her loving family includes her husband Bruce, of El Dorado; children Ben (Jill) Carr of El Dorado, Barry (Tammy) Carr of El Dorado, Breck (Ronda) Carr of El Dorado; grandchildren Rebecca (Brian) Sanders, Nicholas (Juliana) Carr, Trina (Sheldon) Stoskopf, Brenna Carr, Bryton Carr, Lakin Harmon, Bryce (Macy) Morgan, Braden Morgan, Melissa (Jake) Resa and Sarah Linden; great-grandchildren Kinley Carr, Kasen Carr, Josh Sanders, Marissa Sanders, Cora Sanders, Madelyn Wolf, Diego Resa, Dante Resa, Dominic Resa and Silas Morgan. Norma passed away on November 18, 2018 surrounded by her family. She is preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Alma and half-siblings Shirley Groneau and Rolland “Buddy” Dace. Friends may gather with the family from 5:30-7:30 pm on Tuesday November 20 at Kirby-Morris Funeral Home. Her funeral service will be held at 1 pm on Wednesday November 21 at Prospect Baptist Church in El Dorado led by Pastor Rick Harms. Norma will be laid to rest at Sunset Lawns Cemetery in El Dorado.
