Tribute

Rollin Steve Jensen, a man whose life was marked by hard work, dedication, and a deep love for his family, gardening, and the simple pleasures of life, passed away on March 14, 2024, at his home. Born on December 29, 1952, in Salina, Kansas, Rollin was the beloved son of Robert G. and Myrna Kathleen Jensen.
Rollin's journey through life was one of industriousness and passion. He graduated from Salina High School and furthered his education at Beloit Vo-Tech, specializing in Heavy Equipment Operating. Early in his career, he worked in a meat packing plant before venturing into the world of entrepreneurship, where he found success as a restaurateur, establishing several restaurants.
His professional journey led him to Dustrol, where he served as a Road Foreman for over 20 years until his well-deserved retirement in 2013. Yet, retirement didn't slow him down; instead, it provided him with more time to indulge in his passions.
Rollin had an innate green thumb and found solace in tending to his garden, a place where he could nurture life and find peace. His faithful companion, Jackie, shared in his joys and was his constant source of love and companionship.
He had a zest for life that manifested in various ways – from enjoying the warmth of a fire in the chimenea while watching the birds to engaging in his yearly football pool with great enthusiasm. Rollin also found fulfillment in creative pursuits like welding and metalwork, as well as in recreational activities such as fishing and listening to the timeless tunes of 60's & 70's Rock music.
In December of 2001, Rollin married the love of his life, Nicola DuBois, in El Dorado, KS, with whom he shared many cherished memories. He leaves behind Nicola, his devoted wife; his mother, Myrna Jensen; his son, Tracy Aaron Jensen; stepdaughter Gina (Rick) Baumbaugh and their son, Forrest; stepson Dennis (Nichole) DuBois; stepdaughters Shelley & Molly; uncle David Deppe; aunt Sharon Ball, and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Rollin was preceded in death by his father, Robert, his brother Randy Jensen, and several aunts. While his physical presence may be gone, his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
A memorial service to celebrate Rollin's life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be directed to the El Dorado Animal Shelter, a cause dear to Rollin's heart.
