Russell "Russ" L. Flurry

Russell’s life began on June 28, 1951 in Oklahoma City, OK; the son of Lee and Emma Pauline (Thompson) Flurry. Russell attended high school in Vian, OK. He was united in marriage to Cherrie Jones on March 6, 1978 in Eureka, KS. He retired from KDOT after 20+ years of service. Russell enjoyed fishing, wood working, cooking, gardening, and camping. He was a very selfless man and was always there to help anyone who needed it. He always put his family first, but was especially proud of all of his grandchildren. Russell passed away on November 1, 2018 at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital in El Dorado. He is survived by his wife Cherrie of El Dorado; children Paula (Riley) Millage of Kollona, IA, Russel Jr. (Rachel) Flurry of Texarkana, TX, Kasey Tatman of Prairieville, LA and Scott (Kelli Deslattes) Flurry of El Dorado; grandchildren Lacey, Dustin, Sondra, Kira, Jacob, Joshua, Brittany, Dalton, Devin, Jacob, Seth, Preston, and Summer; niece Shannon Diemart and many more; one great-grandchild; cousins Deanna Thompson, Sammy Ward-Johnston, and Janice Hensy. Russell was preceded in death by his daughter Reba Rebecca and his parents. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
