Ruth C. (Muth) Strumfa was born in El Dorado, Kansas to Frank and Mae Muth. Ruth graduated from St. John’s school, El Dorado High School and Butler County Community College in her home town of El Dorado, Kansas. Ruth worked at the El Dorado Police Department for seventeen years, and the Federal Civil Service for twenty-four years. In 1961 Ruth married Melvin L. Strumfa. Ruth was a member of St. John’s Church, St. John’s Altar Society, The American Legion and the VFW auxiliaries. Preceding her in death were her husband, parents and ten siblings. Ruth is survived by her three step children, Carl L. Strumfa of Thermopolis, WY, Warren L. Strumfa of San Diego, CA, and Cynthia Bay of Freemont, NE, three grandchildren and four great grandchildren, seven nieces and seven nephews. Ruth passed away on December 22, 2017 at Lakepoint El Dorado. Her family will gather on Thursday December 28th at 9:30 a.m. at St. John’s Catholic Church. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated after the Rosary at 10 a.m. by Father Brian Bebak. Kirby-Morris Funeral Home is serving the family.
