Sharon’s life began on June 10, 1943 in El Dorado, KS; the daughter of Ned and Ella Mae (Andrus) Whitacre. She graduated from El Dorado High School and was later united in marriage to Ted Diffendal. Sharon worked hard for her family and retired from Intrust Bank as a Customer Service Representative after over 33 years of service. Sharon loved life. She enjoyed going camping and spending time outdoors. Sharon liked to visit the casino and play the “red hots” slot machines. Regardless if she won big, she always enjoyed spending time with those she went with. Sharon also liked to read and could always be found curled up with a good book. After her husband Ted, passed away, she met Ron Troyer and found a slice of happiness again. She loved her family dearly. Her family includes her children, Michele (Lee) Steinhauer of Rosalia and Mike (Kristen) Diffendal of El Dorado; grandchildren Dylan Steinhauer, Shane Steinhauer, Kady Smith and Ellie Smith; fiancé Ron Troyer of El Dorado; sister Barbara Austin of Wichita and brother in law Jake Jacobson of Sedgwick; as well as several nieces and nephews.
