Leon was one of the best county commissioners for Butler County. He kept informed and was a ready listener. We were in the thick of the issue of where the new jail should be built, which ended up downtown. He was in favor of this. He and Ocella were good friends of ours and we enjoyed our visits. We miss them both. Our sympathy to you, Lee on the loss of your Father.

I would like to express my condolences to Lee and Sherri. Leon was my predecessor for the Eastern district of Butler County on the Butler County Commission. Leon was a mentor and invaluable in advising me on the duties and responsibilities of County government. Leon was a leader and a visionary and I will be forever grateful for the kindness that he showed me.

Leon will be missed by many people. He was a person that could be trusted to his word at everything he did. He sold me my first car in 1964, and I will never forget the treatment I was given. He was always there when I had a concern, and I sent several people to him for vehicles and they all thought he was a great person. He will highly be missed by the community he served for many years and the Country he served while in the service. RIP Leon.
