Ramona’s life began on November 5, 1936, the daughter of William Claude and Margie Louella (Simpson) Caldwell in Oklahoma. She owned Balloons & More and enjoyed gardening, canning, crocheting, Christmas and family time. Ramona loved buying gifts and especially Christmas presents. She was also a Foster parent to six children. After age 50, she became an apartment manager for Mennonite Senior Housing until retirement in Leavenworth. Later she became a resident and an Activity Director at Heritage House in El Dorado.
Her loving family includes her daughters and their husbands, Diana and Darrell Calkin of El Dorado, Teresa and Gary Wise of Kansas City, Missouri, Tammie Goff and Brian Holder of Wichita; a brother, Alfred (Marie) Caldwell of Freeport, Kansas; grandchildren, Curt (Sandi) Boyles, Amy (Mike) Ward, Ryan (Rachel) Wise, Shawn (Angie) Wise, Regan (Daniel) Seifert and Shanda Goff; great-grandchildren, Carson Boyles, Madison, Kameron and Noah Ward, Reece, Rory, Wesley, Annabelle, Grace, Jake, Zack and Josh Wise, Emma, Nora and Avery Seifert.
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Gary Wise Jr.; brother, Furman Caldwell and a sister, Naomi Wright. Ramona passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 24, 2017, having reached the age of 80 years old.
A memorial service for Ramona will be held at Carlson Colonial Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, October 28, 2017, at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Chris McCoy of First Baptist Church officiating.
